Clinical Skills Training

From Purpose to Practice

The Clinical Skills courses are designed to develop essential skills for accurate patient assessment and improve clinical decision-making through hands-on scenarios. It enables participants to apply evidence-based techniques confidently during patient evaluations.

What You’ll Master

By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to conduct thorough and systematic patient assessments, interpret clinical findings efficiently, and utilise fundamental physical examination techniques. Emphasis is also placed on effective communication throughout patient interactions.

Laying the Foundations

Laying the Foundations

Participants begin with an introduction to the principles and importance of comprehensive patient assessment. This foundation is followed by detailed guidance on structuring clinical interviews, enhancing communication skills, and gathering relevant medical histories. Physical examination techniques are explored through practical instruction, helping learners to identify normal and abnormal findings across multiple body systems.

Practical Sessions

As part of the Clinical Skills courses, participants will take part in hands-on practical sessions designed to reinforce learning and build real-world competence, these are available as a combined package or as separate modules. The sessions include:

  • Minor Trauma: A face-to-face session aimed at equipping learners with the skills to assess, diagnose, and manage everyday clinical injuries.
  • Minor Ailments: An workshop that focuses on identifying and treating a range of minor ailments typically seen in primary care.
